Proposal to Establish the ASEAN-Korea Think Tank Dialogue

- This denotes a more comprehensive and deepened form of cooperation compared to a strategic partnership. It emphasizes strengthening collaboration across all areas, including political, economic, socio-cultural, and security sectors, while focusing on joint responses to broader global challenges.

Content of the Think Tank Dialogue
The Think Tank Dialogue is a regular consultative body jointly organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the ASEAN Secretariat, with participation from leading economic and trade research institutions from Korea and the 10 ASEAN member states.
A project proposal was submitted to the ASEAN Secretariat in September 2023 to utilize the ASEAN-Korea FTA Economic Cooperation Fund. Joint research, forums, and seminars will be regularly conducted in Korea or the ASEAN chair country, with the results to be presented and reported at the ASEAN-Korea High-Level Economic Platform
